Thank you for sharing your idea and the pictures. The possibilities go on and on: unused test blocks made into a bag, personalized bags, bags that can be upgraded the next go around with embroidery or applique, quilted bags, ....

This has been a tough year and a half but we can see things slowly calming down. Your bag idea is just exactly what I need to help with my peace of mind.

I absolutely love these ideas, and am going to print this post off and take it out to my sewing room for next year's Christmas wrapping. My bedroom is a MESS this morning because everyone used it as the staging area for wrapping gifts yesterday (we always have our family Christmas party and dinner on Christmas Eve), and in all the excitement and partying, my room didn't get cleaned up. Boy hidey, what a mess; but I got lots of nice stuff from all of them, so I guess I'll quit my bellyachin'.......

Great idea! I'm thinking next year I'll probably use it. If you make simple tote bags they can be used for shopping too.
Maybe there'll be some Christmas fabrics on clearance...

I tried this, this year. One yard of fabric is good. I was thinking two yards would be better. I sewed the two yards to made the bag wider instead of long. There were to wide. I also made the top for a ribbon tie. That did not work. So next year I will get gold cording and tie around the fabric about ten inches down. That way there is no peeking.
