I did pictures (printed material) with a double Irish Chain once and it worked out fine.

I have no ideas about blocks other then what has been said but I would like to know the name of the print and I would love to see what you do with them.

Just found this pattern...uses the charms & seems really simple, but cute.

You can find the pattern on Quilmaker's website. The pattern calls for 6" squares so if you decide to do it, you will need to alter the widths of the pieced blocks. You might want to make a sawtooth star (made from a set of 4 flying geese) and have them be the center of the block. With a 4.5" finished center, you will have 9" blocks. This was a charity quilt top I made.....

Cute blocks, you could team them up with matching blocks of border colors for 4 patches.
