Very cute hanging and a nice way to celebrate your heritage.

I am not at all surprised at your Irish heritage. My MIL was a war bride as well. She was born and raised in Glasgow, BUT all four of her grandparents were born in Ireland. So her nationality was Scottish but her heritage was Irish (and to make things even more interesting, we are pretty sure there is some Spanish in the mix somewhere--possibly dating back to survivors of the Spanish Armada--because my BIL is what is called Black Irish--very swarthy skin, black hair and very dark brown eyes in a family of blond/red heads and blue eyes)

Well, we have a bit of a mystery with my paternal grandfather's parentage. I know his mother, but not sure about his father. I found a man I thought could be his father and found his grandson in California. I paid for a DNA test for his and my brother to see if we were related. What the DNA test will show is your ethnicity and if there are family trees on ancestry.com that have shared relatives, so you can find more people to buy Christmas presents for!! - OK, just kidding about that. I found out my siblings and I are 39% Irish, and that is quite a bit really. I always felt British since my mom and her ancestors are from the Manchester area, so the large percentage of Irish was news to me. It was really interesting to get the results, but they charge $99 plus $10 for shipping. They just recently had a sale on it for $79 and sometimes they offer free shipping, so keep your eyes open for the specials. I also thought that males were better for DNA tests, but apparently that's not necessarily true for this test.

Thanks for the great comments! I appreciate it!

Ha, ha. that is so cute. Love it. I had an Irish Grandfather no one in the family would own so I never claimed my Irish ancestry. Now I do. I find I love, love Celtic music. It speaks to me. So being Irish isn't so bad after all. Happy St. Patrick's Day early.
