    I do a D9P with as many fabs as I can find in the color scheme. came out beautiful

    I had to do one in a hurry not long ago. I took a pretty fabric with owl's on it and cut a panel size for the center and framed it with two colors that matched colors in the owl fabric then put a wide strip of the owl fabric around that and a border of one of the solid fabrics I had framed it with. I tied it instead of quilting. She loved it. It only took me a few hours to have it done.

    The quilt is 39" sq. I usually only make baby quilts as big as the backing fabric is wide so I don't have to piece a backing together on a small quilt.

    @ post #13, craftypat: I also like to do panel quilts for quick baby projects. Good job! Every baby should have a quilt!

    here is another sample of a quick quilt. With all the open spaces. I did embellish this on though.

    i like to make a checkerboard quilt and border it. Two fabrics, all strip piecing and a quick quilt to make.
