Getting cams can be tricky. I just bought cams for a White sewing machine - they go on but they do not go on all the way. I know someone else who just bought cams and the cams did not go on at all. It can be very difficult to figure out unless you can physically try the cams on the machine. I wish there was a way to better identify cams.

You and me both. I have several different boxes of cams (some complete sets) and only a vague idea of what machine they go to. Of course, I don't own any of them. Someday I may find them.

Well, I'm looking for some White disks that fit one that does not go on straight for some reason.

The 99 is a lot heavier than the 221. Both are good machines but for different reasons.

The 99 weighs around 25 lbs, the featherweight weighs around 11 lbs. There was also an aluminum 99 that Singer made and the Japanese made some aluminum 99 clones as well. I've watched a couple of the 99 clones pass by but the timing has never been quite right to get one.

I have a couple of 99s, and they sure seem like they weigh more than 25 lbs. I guess the ones I have are not the lighter ones referred to above by Rodney. I love the way mine sew, but their weight keeps me from considering using them for anything except quilting classes in a non-moving environment.
