Yep. And I've also had to eat crow on saying "I don't care for paisley or large print florals.". As lately that's ALL I want to buy!! Lol...

That is too funny! That is something I would love to see some pictures of.

I think it looks fine! Sometimes when you're looking close up at a fabric it's not appealing, but it looks fine in the quilt!

It happens to me all the time. Usually half way done with a quilt I start looking at it and wondering what was I thinking? And after it is finished it looks better. But there are is usually a time I am sewing that I just want to take it all apart. When I was making an Double Irish Chain, I took apart several blocks a couple times and changed the fabrics. It wasn't until I had it finally sewed together and realized what I should have used instead of a plain white, should have been a a white on white. Someday I will finish quilting it....

That's not ugly. It's just a very calm quilt. I tend to like brighter, more dramatic colors, and those are the ones about half way through that you really start going, "What was I thinking?"

A suggestion...I have seen several quilts that were calm like yours be livened up a whole lot, by appliqueing a large Dresden flower, complete with stems and leaves on it to the quilt...even 2 or 3 of them. Your quilt is so blue, that fish would look really neat on it. You could do them in polka dots or any kind of fun fabric and turn it into a fun quilt. What about elephants or tigers? By the way, what age was the person that you intended this quilt for and what gender? That would help make the decision of what to applique on it.
