    I just did patterns of quilt blocks that I thought would look good with the fabric I had.

    Is it just me or is the rectangle look of a mug rug look off to anyone? I guess I just like the square look- like a coaster.

    I like the rectangle shape - because I can put a mug on one side and a brownie or "several" cookies on the other side ! But it is all individual taste.

    I think the rectangle format lets you make better mini quilt designs, but I do think that if I gave rectangular mug rugs to my non-sewing family without an explanation of a mug rug they would be confused as to the purpose of it.

    I love that- thank you!! I might just stop making coasters and do some mug rugs next time and attach a cute note!!
