I like every aspect...picking material, cutting, piecing, quilting, binding!

In this order: choosing a recipient (known or stranger), designing/planning, picking fabric, piecing, arranging the finished blocks, pressing, cutting, binding, prewashing, bordering, quilting, sandwiching. Although, I gotta say, now that I've got a machine with an 11" inch throat that is a dream with FMQ sewing, I think I'm going to be able to move that phase of quilt making up higher in the "favorite part" queue.

I really love to design quilts and then choose corresponding fabric. I also love to piece, especially seeing how the design comes out once it's done. I've been quilting for 7ish years so far and I'm still amazed how the little pieces of fabric I cut out can make such beautiful designs when I sew it together. But I despise cutting (well only when I have to cut a million of the same pieces...which is pretty often) and pressing. I wish the fabric could press itself.

I love figuring out/designing and piecing the top, don't mind sandwiching and basting (I use Elmer's school glue), don't like quilting and binding.

As much as I enjoy putting the top together, I have to say that I like the actual hand stitching. It is very satisfying to see it come closer to being complete. I think about the person I will give it to, and how much they will love it, and be warmed by it.

This is my favorite part as well. Once I have my fabric selected I'm eager to get started to see if the fabric looks as good as I envisioned.

I have started doing a lot of my own free motion quilting and I really love the artistic side to this process.

I like all of it. Not great at all of it but I quilt for my own enjoyment.
