I made the illusion quilt for my daughter following Jenny's plan. I used 10" squares cut in half and 2" finished shadows. I used the same colors in a diagonal pattern and used a couple of them twice. This daughter is very 'boring' and likes things simple and usually bland colors. This was as 'wild' as I could get. The background is ivory, the shadows are very dark charcoal and the rectangles were a variety of taupes, greys, soft deep purples and a smokey blue. It actually came out quite stunning and she was ok with the colors.
