Wow - that's gorgeous but such a difficult fabric to work with! The animals overlap into each other, so cutting squares would be difficult. You'd have the butt of a sheep in your picture of a horse. I think I would use it as the backing for an I Spy Attic Windows maybe. The child would get a 2-fer.

How much do you have?
On the weekend when the Quilt Show had 220 free videos to watch I saw Alex Anderson in #1704 make what she called a 3 hour quilt. I don't know all the measurements but the "panel" piece in the middle was cut 24½ x 30 ½ and then a 3 ½" border around , and then quite large flying geese in the outside border. Maybe you could try something like that?

That is such a fun print that I wouldn't want to cut it up either. I think 5 yards is enough for the back of a decent sized quilt, so that is what I would use it for.

My first thought also was attic windows but don't know how you could cut it to make it look right. I really think I would use it for a backing. If there isn't enough for backing then you can just add borders until it is big enough. I am anxious to see what you are going to do with it. You are always so creative so it will be great. The fabric is awesome!

If this picture goes through. I found this on this website when I had horse fabric. You could make it as a panel and do stars around the panel or just strips. Google horse quilts. Have fun with it.
Good luck.

Don't cut it. Just add borders around it and let the beauty show.

I bought a yard of that same fabric for an I spy swap. I love it. It's still in the box, though. There seems to be no way to cut it into squares without looking weird.

Be sure and show us your quilt when you get it done.
