I use tons of precuts, I have a serious jelly roll a addiction and I don't prewash at all, I just make the quilt and then wash as usual.

I do like Garden Gnome - Sew them, then wash the whole quilt after finishing.

I have washed pre-cuts because of what the chemicals do to my finger tips and nails. Sometimes I put them in a mesh bag and throw them in the washing machine and sometimes I put them in a salad spinner. They are hung up to dry on a drying rack unless it is the 5 in. squares and those i just set on towels - they dry very fast. Only one set I bought I was so glad that I did pre-wash for bleeding purpose, and those were dyed by the artist at the show, and that jelly roll never stopped bleeding, the color seemed to be fading so it went in the trash. What ever the artist did, the dye was not set.

    No need to wash it.

Have to agree with Garden Gnome on this one. I don' wash precuts - wash when the quilt is finished.

As a general rule, I wash all my fabrics before I make quilts. I do it because I am not a fan of the look that happens when the fabrics shrink. However, I often buy precuts because I like the variety of fabrics, but I never wash them. Tried once and it was a disaster. When I use precuts I also don't wash the other fabrics I am going to use in the quilt. I don't want some of it my fabric to shrink and others to not shrink. I don't like that look either.

Never wash them is what I've always been told.

I generally do not pre-wash anymore and would definitely not wash precuts. I would use the jelly roll and then once the quilt is finnished wash it with two color catchers.

I'm a prewasher also but never washed a precut. I just wash the whole quilt when I'm finished. I've never had a problem yet.

I have never washed pre-cuts, but use Sythrapol and Color Catchers with excellent success and no bleeding.
