Dumb question of the year -- did someone have to buy a bottle to obtain the Crown Royal fabric? I counted 47 pieces of fabric with the words "Crown Royal".

Yes... Crown Royal comes in purple bags with drawstrings. My DIL bought most of the bags on the internet.

Thanks for the quick reply. Now I will not worry about buying all the bottles and drinking the contents. Love the quilt.

I believe the fabric for those purple bags is like a flannel? or mock velvet? and you used the front and back! What type fabric did you use for the other lighter purple and gold blocks? What a great idea to reuse the bags (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!)

I just used regular quilting fabric. The light purple I got at Joanns, and the yellow is mottled looking and I got that at a fabric warehouse. The bags are like flannel. I've never worked with flannel, but I heavily starched the bag pieces so it wasn't too hard working with them.

That's really pretty. I don't like cutting/sewing small squares either because they all come out wonky. Thanks for sharing.
