I'll keep looking for a pattern that can be modified if necessary.
    Thanks for your help.

In the end I switched to a zig zag to make the dart point. Is your silver fabric in a V idea to replace the entire dart point or just the place where the point goes in?

How would I attach this V? A very tiny HST?? The blue "barrel" of the dart is only 1" finished.

I know what you mean about not having the front of the "barrel" flat, but I can't figure out how to make a pointed barrel with such a small barrel.

Beautiful but way way way beyond my capabilities! Plus the event is in just a few weeks and I don't want to rush. I think I'm going to have to stick with simple darts. Thanks for looking for it though.

Anita - Thanks for your help.

I know what you mean but I'm not sure how to accomplish it. The dart body is only 1" finished. I don't think I can make a HST that small. Is it terrible the way it is??

I would definitely do pp'ing vs applique but that's because I'm terrible at machine applique and my hand applique skills are extremely rusty, lol.

NJQuilter helped me to make a pattern to pp the point. I think this will work out! I'll post pictures later.

Thank you to all you contributed.

Can't wait to see your progress pictures, and your finished quilt is going to be a huge success.

I was thinking the same thing. The shaft of the dart needs to be at a point where the point is attached. I can't draw on the computer either.

Looking forward to seeing the new version, I thought your first prototype was great already.

Here it is! I'm pleased. I made 3, this is the most perfect.

In my stash I found white fabric with silver glitter embedded in it. That's what I used for the body of the dart.

Now I'll build the quilt around a strip of these 3 darts. I'll post another picture when it's all done.
