I too have made several of the quilt storybooks into quilts; think they are more functional that way. I too cut them apart, sashed them, put a final border around them which is usually the same as the sashing and then quilt and bind. The sashing and backing is not necessarily the same as the theme of the storybook. I have 3 done but pics are on my phone; not sure I can attach them. (but then have never tried either) I did try; they wouldn't download. Sorry.

This project is my first trying to use the book panel to create a quilt. I have ordered the panel like Ariannaquilts used in her quilt, like that panel better than the other version. So I shall start creating when it arrives to see what I come up with. I plan to use a pale blue fleece as the backing, another first doing that.

Jordan Fabrics has a tutorial using a panel. Donna Jordan does wonderful with her tutorials.
