I have a HQ Sweet 16 and I also use Connecting Threads thread. Like others above said - it is pretty linty, but I have never had a problem with it on my Sweet 16 or in my Dreamweaver machine. I probably have every color they ever made, bought most of the sets they sell and about 15 of the large cones in various colors. I just clean my machines more often, which is never a bad thing.

I havemost all the colors in their Essential Cotton threads. Also have some of their polyester threads too. True, it very linty so you'll have to clean your bobbin area as well as keep tabe on how much lint gets in your upper area too. Can't beat their prices, that's for sure. I've also used my embroidery threads including metallics and my machine loves it all. I have an Innova with IQ robotics and seldom do I have a thread break with any of it.

I use Connecting Threads cotton on the cones for almost all my piecing, sewing and on the longarm. I have no problems with it and the prices a are great. I think most threads are linty to some degree so it makes me clean my machine often.

I had a Voyager 17 for years and that is all it liked so I purchased lots of it when it was on sale back then. I now have an Avante which quilts just fine with it - but as others have commented, it produces lint. I have gotten in the habit of "dusting" the bobbin area on bobbin changes so the lint does not build up.

I have a Sit Down HQSS and have found that the essentials cotton thread produces too much lint. I have been happy with So Fine and King Tut. I buy from Superior Threads. Yes, pricier than Essential threads, but I think it is worth the cost for the sake of keeping my HQSS "happy". She was a big investment!

I do not quilt for $$. Mainly charity so thrift is good. I use Essential Pro and love it. This is the ply one. I use pre wound poly bobbins from superior. I did not get a bobbin winder with my used machine. These have Lots of thread on them.

My machine doesn't have a problem with this thread but I dislike the amount of lint it produces. I have wooden floors and I had to be consistent cleaning up so it didn't wind up on the quilt.
BTW don't know if any of you have tried the polyester thread from Thread Art but it sews up great I had no tension issues with it and the price is incredible, just an FYI.

If you're talking about Essential Pro polyester cone thread, I use it almost exclusively. It is one of only a couple brands that my longarm will sew. I like it a lot. It doesn't have that much lint, no more than other brands. I like the look, it looks like cotton, and the feel of the thread. It is a good price, too!

I bought some several years ago. While Aurifil is my favorite I do like the Essentials.

Am reading the reviews here, and on the CT website, for their cotton Essential thread in the 1200 yd spool. It seems they changed the core to a plastic type which does not fit certain machines....however nobody said what their machine was (!). I use a Brother 1500 PQ straight stitch only and sometimes my Singer 201. I have a stand-alone spool holder which feeds vertically.
