I had to ask for help with things here too when I started. For me it was the new lingo around machine quilting, not much of it around 20 years ago the last time I knew what I was talking about.
DSM -- Domestic Sewing Machine, which is very different from Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders which is the first thing I think of when I see the acronym!
I've been using WoF (width of fabric) and LoF (length of fabric) for decades but I still get asked when I write them in instructions.
