    Although the outside border is camo, it picks up the tree trunk and leaves from the left side of the panel, so I think it really works well as it is.

    Unless you are wanting to do more (such as the window), I think it is great the way it is. It is somewhat as though the viewer has come through the woods and happened onto the deer. The camo is perfect for this panel. Excellent choice!

    you have more then one quilt in that photo, good on ya! I have given away a few, was commissioned on a few but they take so much out of me that I can't imagine gifting two in one year. Plus I don't have anyone who'd appreciate the time, effort and finances that would go into it. Other then my immediate family and they have access to all of them anyway.

    I think it's beautiful as is. I think adding pieced decorative blocks would detract from the wonderful woodsiness of it.

    For the binding, I'd use the same brown that frames the deer panel or black.

    The folks that receive these quilts are going to be so happy!
