    Like the others you turned this quilt into the WOW factor. What an adorable idea and you carried it out perfectly.
    I once had a quilt guild challenge that required us making a small wall hanging that symbolized a letter. It got "Z"
    LOL I did a similar thing and after appliqueing zebras in a zoo, put the silhouette of a little boy with a balloon facing them.

    The little boy and his balloon take a simple quilt and makes it WOW! Wonderful.

    I have done something similar with just wof strips in pastels and white (no diagonal joins) and appliqued a large butterfly on it. Perfect width for a baby quilt.
