    When you do a pocket, since the quilt is quite heavy the rod it's hung on will need a center bracket. Don't make the pocket a continuous tube - leave a gap in the middle so a center bracket can be used.

    With that weight, the brackets will definitely need to be screwed into framing, not just drywall (even with drywall anchors).
