    Here is last year’s thread
    https://www.quiltingboard.com/vbulle...e-t319618.html

I have only participated twice, didn’t “love” the results that much, but enjoyed the process, so will probably do it again this year.

The first clue has come out early, and is on her site now.

    Thank you, Thimblebug.

I will have to wait just a bit to print.

    Meanwhile, any thoughts ?

Soon, on the search for fabrics.

So excited! This will be my 4th year in a row doing the Merry Mayhem mystery quilt (well, quilt top... I never seem to get around to actually quilting the darn things...) I prefer a "controlled scrappy" look so I think maybe I'll do 7 different fabrics for A-C (for a twin size)

I always find it so challenging choosing fabrics for these quilts.

vadalia, that sounds like a good idea!

I've been unable to sew for awhile due to various issues, but I will definitely follow along and print out the clues. I think Merry Mayhem is such fun, and so well named.

Got what I think will be my fabrics picked out. I do have a couple more fabrics coming in from Black Friday shopping so one or two might get swapped but I'm pretty sure this is the final line up.

Top row is my lights, middle row is my mediums, bottom row is the darks. The 3 on the right-hand side are (top to bottom) my sashing, outer border, and setting fabrics. Those are the ones most likely to change because I'm not 100% happy with the sashing & outer border choices (originally the top one was my outer border fabric but just felt too plain)

That's the most fun part! lol At least for me

I always end up with multiple groups of fabrics that I refine until it's almost showtime. It's always a little bit of a bring-down when I realize I finally do have all the fabrics I want to use, and now I have to do the actual hard work of all that measuring and cutting!

I think I'll jump in on this one. I've been working through scraps and don't have a lot of them right now, but my totes of "larger than a scrap but not a fat quarter" have gotten way too full, so I'll be using them up for this. I've got 6 medium size totes, sorted into blues, reds, greens, grey/blacks, tan/brown, and orange/purples. It will be fun to sort them into Light, Mediums and Darks. I also love the fabric selection process and normally pull way too much out of my stash and then refine it down. Though I have to be careful as some colors speak to me more than others, and it's too easy to gravitate to them.
