    I would make sure that the sharpie is labeled as permanent marker. A few years ago, I was fooled by a sharpie that wasn’t, and it made quite a mess. I had always thought that part of “sharpiness” was that it was permanent, but alas.

    I would make the Templet onto a heavy card stock, cut it out and glue it onto the plastic from the back Cut that out. Then you could see the name and shape of the piece though the plastic.
