    I cut as I go and I also sew one block at a time. I don't care for chain piecing. I've never been in that much of a hurry to make a quilt.

    I usually cut all at once because I like having everything organized. I'm more motivated to work on something if have a "kit" ready to go. And I enjoy cutting, it's kind of zen.

    But this has bitten me in the butt a few times, I admit.

    Red face Trim as I go.

    I trim the thread as I go. Always miss a few but since I caught most of them, it's not such a big job at the end. Just personal preference!

    I do a bit of both. If the quilt is more complex, I will cut, sew, then cut again. If it’s a familiar pattern I might cut it all at once.

    My back needs frequent breaks, so although I would prefer to cut all at once, it is better for me to switch from task to task.
