Welcome! And congrats on getting back into quilting! I also recently returned to the craft after a few years away so I totally understand your sentiments. I don't use a machine either. I tried in the past but never "got the hang of it". So I do everything by hand. I don't care if it takes months or even years to complete a project. I find as much joy in the journey as in the destination!

Yes my hand work is very relaxing as I find the machine not as relaxing. Many of my projects take years to complete but that may be because I have so many quilts to finish. I knit and crochet which also helps me relax.
