I have learned that viruses can turn your virus protection off. This happened to my moms comp, it was the second time she got hit with a virus this year.

After that happened to me and it cost an arm and a leg to get it fixed (money I COULD have used on fabric) I told everyone that if they downloaded anything, they were going to loose fingers!! There is so much junk out there I'm almost afraid to download anything.

My computer friend had me download and run Malwarebytes. There is a free version of this on it's site and works wonders. I ran it on quick scan and it removed the horrendous virus. I ran it a few times afterwards to be sure. Let me know if you want the site or you can google it.
