well we turned off the cable and the house phone....$75 a month! We haven't missed either. We all have cell phones (except the young kiddos but they are with me) and we never used the house phone...except to answer calls from politicians. That extra $ has helped alot and we don't miss either one.

If any of you decide to watch the tv again, be prepared! There seems to be only 2 big themes to advertising. I watch and am amazed.

People who watch American TV from overseas must think that all American women are constipated and must eat yogurt to poop and no American men still have ahem, "vigor".

Evidently we are a limp and stuffy society, according to advertizing executives.

Lol.. that is too funny. I know that I am tired of Jaime Lee Curtis sell her "poop yogurt".. lmao
We have tv and I think our world was stop as we know it if "Lovin' Man" didn't have it. I watch more movies than I do tv. In honesty I listen to them mostly while I clean or sew or something.

We own a tv, but have only had cable on for a short time a few times over the last six years. Hubby and I are perfectly content with no tv, and no netflix. Now that Baby Girl is here, we mind even less, cuz who has time to watch tv??? Recently however, the tv has been used a couple times to watch Clifford the Big Red Dog, or Elmo.

I don't want to give up tv or our cable service. We enjoy the shows that are available. DD has learned more from National Geographic, Discovery, and History channels then from her text books.

I'm a TV junkie and would be lost without it. I watch the medical shows on Discovery Health, get lots of ideas from the house shows on HGTV, love reality TV shows and following stories on The Weather Channel or CNN. Now that I have a DVR, I can have the TV on as background noise and if I missed something, I can rewind to see what I missed.

We watch certain channels & I also don't want to give it up. I enjoy HGTV, The Learning Channel, National Geographic, Discovery, The Weather Ch. & the local News sometimes. I learn a lot from what we watch. The junk Shows....we do not waste our time on them.

My Husband and I ( mostly me) are so disgusted with what's on t.v that we're 'this close' to dumping the cable. We only watch a handful of channels anyway.... The neighbors took down our power & cable lines 2 weeks ago while cutting down a tree.. I did miss the power for the 3 hours it was out; but didn't mis the tv for the 3 days it took cable co. to get out & repair the wires... We've been going to the library more, and get 2 movies a month with the netflix account. We could save $60.00 a month.... hey! I think I just made up my mind!
