Does anyone else have a fear of buying FQ?

If you want to get over your fear of buying FQs, pick up a pattern that uses them, like Yellow Brick Road or Turing 20. They are easy patterns and you'll really have fun picking out fat quarters. Then you won't be afraid any more! :-D

i don't buy FQs - in my area it costs more to buy FQs then to buy yardage - i guess the LQS add in the cost of their time cutting the fabric up.
i buy yardage all the time. the minimum i buy is 3 yards and the most has been a full bolt.

I love fat quarter packs. They are from one line so go together perfectly. I pick a main fabric color from the pack and buy yardage of that to add to make a quilt. I buy the 100 fat quarters for $99 every year from Keepsakes Quilting. You get one fat quarter from each fabric line they had for past year. No repeats. All top of the line fabric. Fat quarters are the perfect size for the Go die cut machine.

I have the same problem. I just can't seem to cut into it, thinking I may want to use it later for something else. I did collect lots of black/white FQs, as I'll someday make a quilt with them, just don't know what pattern yet, so FQs will be good for variety.

I'm the same way. I used to buy them but couldn't bring myself to cut them because I might need more for another project later and they would be gone! So I just stopped buying them altogether.
