I would love "private" instruction ShellyQ! I think that is an excellent idea. Thanks for volunteering!

I would be interested, as I am learning more and more on here. I have quilted for many years, but only squares and rectangles, never triangles or squares, they scare me. So help would be greatly appreciated!!! :P :P :P

Thanks for the input :D , unfortunately I am unable to use the chat room as it juz hates me  and the frustration of trying to reconect every 5 minutes could lead to permanant damage of the tutor or her computer

I was thinking of running it on similar lines to our current BOM, but with much more detailed instructions, some tips and hints on colour placement, some possable uses for a particular block ect, a place for question and answers.

After reading some of your replies, am wondering whether the 9 patch may be a bit too basic. but then we also don't want to miss anyone who could really use the information. It would be the same as what we have now in the BOM, if it suited you, you could make that particular block, if not you don't have to. :D

Triangles seem to be a bit of an issue, don't worry cutting and sewing itsy bitsy triangles is not exactly my favourite either  there are heaps of ways to get around that :P . We will definately be doing some work on triangles

ShellyQ, this sounds great and I think not on chat is good because it would probably be hard for all to be here at the same time. Thank you!

I would be happy with whatever starting point you would choose regarding skill levels. I have learned so much from the lessons here and being basically self taught, would enjoy your teachings, tips and techniques very much! :D

For me it would be great for it to NOT be in chat as living in the UK my time zone is very different and I would have to be up a silly oclock here

as for where I would like to start - as I have some basic sewing skills - but am a beginner (right at the beginning) quilter I would start whereever you suggested - I am willing to give anything a go and if I have problems That is where I can ask for advise and 'learn' ready for the next project

again thanks for offering to give of your time and expertise

    H xx

I'm a self taught, from the book, kind of quilter, so any kind of lessons would be very welcome. I would love learning how you select your colors. They are so bright and beautiful. Something I would not choose but I love your choices. I need to get out of my rut. Lead on and I'll try to follow ShellyQ! Thanks so much for your generous offer.

Hello everyone! I have been observing for quite a few months and have decided to join the group. I am Dazzled, Blown away, awwwwed and amazed by all the talented people on this site. I would love to join the lesson once a month. :D I am in between a beginner and intermediate. I make quilts with ties, and just squares, the triangle and curves intimidate me, but would love to learn. Thanks for the opportunity!
