Congratulations on your "new" SM :D I love the old tan colored machines.

I had to laugh when I saw the pic of the magazines that you bought. The Fons and Porter's magazine in the lower right hand corner is the same one that I have sitting right here. I got out some of my older magazines, yesterday, to look through them and there is a quilt called "Paprika", in that issue, that has caught my eye.

At a quarter a piece I couldn't resist! A group of ladies from a local church have held this sale two years in row. I missed it last year. But it is on my calendar for next year!

I saw one for sale today at the local Cancer Discovery shop. It's in a cabinet with a stool and they're asking $175. If anyone is in my area and wants one, it says that it's working and it looks in good condition. I would think $175 in a cabinet is a good price.

I saw this very same machine today in a sewing table at the Goodwill store they wanted $50 for it. Congrats on your finds.

Congratulations.........My husband gave me this same machine (401A) for my FIRST wedding anniversary.......That was in 1957. I still use this almost everyday.........Mine is in the cabinet........Too heavy to move, but I have a large sewing area for tables and cabinets for my stash. No need to move the machine about the room.........Enjoy yours. I certainly have mine.

Oh! That looks very familiar! I think I learned to sew on one of them also (now unfortunately long gone...) Thanks for posting the picture. It brings back many fond memories!
