My husband is a Vietnam veteran but does not talk about that time either. He does still have the nightmares. I say thank you to all who serve or have served this great country. To the Mothers here on this board and everywhere who sent their husbands and sons off to the unknown, I thank you for your sacrifice. I enjoy a life of freedom and priviledge because of your gift. Thank you.

I am the daughter of a Navy veteran, the mother of USMC veteran, the MIL of a deceased AF vet who died on Veteran's Day last year, the grandmother of two - an active USMC granddaughter and a Army Nat'l Guard GS who's leaving for Afghanistan in Dec. My Navy GS was sent home for medical reasons. The flag flies high around here.

I thank you all for what you do for our country.

My dad was a Marine and fought in WWII. He never talked about his time in the war, only kidded that all he ever did was peel potatoes - which was not what he did at all. I am thankful to all service men and women out there today and from the past. God bless you!

My father served in the Marines. I have family members who served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. I'm sure that I've had other family members in wars further back, but at the moment this is all I know.

I am deeply grateful for all who serve in our country's military.

My DH served 23 years in the Navy, with me and 3 kids following him around all over the world. Youngest DS is completing 24 years in the Navy next month. He's at the Pentagon.

I'm married to a vet and my FIL was a vet. My twin brother is a vet and I have several nephews in the service. We love red, white, and blue in our quilts.!!

i am a veteran and so proud. I served in the airforce from 1970 to 1972. Lost a few friends to the vietnam conflict. Those were days i never will forget. Saw many KC135s come in with wounded aboard. GOD BLESS the USA and all that have served and are serving.
