I would like a wide black border with the piano keys used as the binding. I think your quilt is striking.

The quilt looks great! I think the piano key border looks nice, but I agree that a more solid border might look less busy. Or, maybe a scrappy pieced border, but with the pieces going the long way. Piece long strips of scraps together to make a "narrow" border and then add a wider black border?

Whatever you decide will look great, I am sure. :)

I like the piano key border. I'd use black for the binding and be done with it. But I like bright quilts, so to me, a black border would not work. Have you tried strip piecing the piano keys? I've used that method before and found it pretty fast.

It's a beautiful quilt no matter what you decide.

.For what it's worth, I think the piano keys would be a bit much. Too busy, but fine as the binding, as someone suggested.

As a softer border are you thinking of a solid border or a different pattern. I tend to agree, I think the piano keys might distract just a little from your lovely blocks. But I am scratching my head as to what to substitute instead.

Maybe a thin "strip" border with some of your colors (going horizonal instead of vertical.) and then repeating your thin black border.

It is going to be beautiful whatever you do with it.
