Well, I have to tell you that if you hadn't mentioned it, I would not have noticed that you did the log cabin "backwards" Aren't they (the logs) just positioned differently? The quilt is beautiful and I like the border, especially set the way it is with the small border of brown. Lynn will love it, trust me (even though you don't know me). As for your son, having the quilt with fabric from his father's shirts will be a great memory for your son. It's sometimes hard to get started on the log cabin the right way, and if you switch at the beginning, it's different. Trust me, I have made several log cabin wreath wall hangings and I have the pattern right in front of me, or I mess it up and unsew. Your friend was right, halfway through the best way was to continue, which you did, and you did a great job. The FMQ is beautiful too.
