"Just moved from Fayetteville down to
Calabash, a little beach town not far from Myrtle Beach"
Calabash has the best seafood that you can find anywhere. Lucky you! You have to try the little place that used to be a Dairy-O. It is wonderful. Not crazy about waiting in line, but the food is sure worth it.

Hi Libster:
Welcome to Calabash. We just moved here from Fayetteville too.
Have yo had ice cream at the Cow Place yet? The sea food is great too. Lines should be shorter after tourist season. And have you found the quilt shops in Myrtle Beach yet? The Quilters Cottage at Garden City is well worth the drive. Again, Welcome to Calabash. Such a slower place than Fayetteville

yes, there are... My favorite is:
1.Quilters Cottage at St. Michaels Plaza; 2571 Ocean Hwy, Bus 17; Garden City, SC
2. Accent Sewing; 4410 Hwy 17, Bypass S, Murrells Inlet, SC;
3. Quilting at the Beach, 3246 Waccamaw Blvd, MB, SC.;
4. new one on Hwy 17 in an area called Windy Hill; I only know it by Nancy's, I dont know the name. It's near the old Bi-Lo in same shopping center. Its about 2-3 miles south from Lowes on Hwy 17, fabric store on right.
And there used to be some fabric at Big Barn Fabrics at 4360 Big Barn Drive, Little River, SC. (mostly a thrift store), but they have fabric. Needless to a GPS system comes in handy. I have phone # and email address if needed.

Tadpole and Michelle that's awesome. I'm pretty new at quilting and with dad's medical stuff lately I'm not getting a good jump start but I can sew apparel so I am not a complete noob (I hope)..I joined Tarheel quilters guild last month and going to a meeting this sunday. Are either of you members of THQG?

Mooresville.....transplant from Bloomingdale, Il and loving NC. We've been here seven years and don't regret the move for a minute. I do miss my newest grandaughter, will see her at Christmas. Keep trying to get her Mama and Daddy to move down here so all my grandbabies are here.
