Monsoons have kicked out the high temps. Thought I would vacuum before I go to quilting group. The beater bar stopped working so DH trying to fix while I sit on porch!!
Went to my OLLI class about Fred Harvey and as always learned something. On top of everything else, he bought buffalo bones to sell to make bone china. I had no idea bone china was actually made from bones!

I am also ill, Sunday night I ate about half my dinner and that’s the last time I have eaten. Being sick away from home is not fun. Also had chills most of the night. Try being in your car all night with the runs and dry heaves. Thankfully made it home and hubby helped purity everything away. Not even soda crackers and 7 up are working
Sorry for Everyone else who is sick. Will catch up a little later when feeling better

I have been sick for a week now, and it just keeps getting worse. It’s changed from chills and fever to now nausea and stomach cramps or diarrhea. I can’t remember feeling this miserable for this long. Hope yours is less severe Terri, and shorter duration. I can’t eat either… causes nausea. My abdominal muscles are so sore from vomiting. I’m concerned about being dehydrated because I haven’t been able hold down water, even. Feel like I need a drip.

Terri I can’t imagine being this sick car camping! Bless your heart. So glad you were able to get yourself home!
SusieQ, it’s amazing your very old water heater didn’t burst before you changed it! Ours in the Memphis house, which lived in the attic, did rupture and caused over 10K damage to the main floor of the house. Two years prior, when we were buying the house, the inspector warned us it was getting time to change the heater. And then I just plum FORGOT. 10K penalty for being old and forgetful! We went back home to our main house in Mississippi and changed out the water heater there, just because it was getting old too.

We need to wear our germ-proof bubble suits…
I sewed two blocks this morning, one for WMUTeach and the other for Cheesehead. I used a light cream, not white, on your block, WMU. I love your fabric now that I’ve seen it in a block. Funny how some fabrics just shine in blocks. I think yours is one. Cheesehead, your star Santas are adorable. This block is a new one to me. Unfortunately, I did miss a couple of points but they’ll disappear in the quilting I hope. Hope you like them.
Is everyone keeping an eye on your packages? Last I looked it seemed they were all in the system and on the move. Yay.
Talk of water heaters reminded me that we’re over due to replace the one in the basement. It had some life left in it when we bought the house but now that’s been four years. DH and I agreed this morning to pursue it soon before we have a problem.

Sewbiz- I'm wondering if you have some other kind of bug besides the Covid with the nausea, vomiting etc. I feel so bad for you! If at all possible get some Pedialyte or something similar. You don't want to lose important electrolytes. I didn't have those symptoms but it doesn't mean they don't exist with Covid.
I read in the NYTimes yesterday that Covid is spiking again. UGH
Wow, that water heater story! We were lucky indeed. No problems for the guys switching it out.
Terri- hope you feel better soon!

You are setting the bar high for our blocks, Janice!
SBG, it sounds like you are still not feeling well. I'm so sorry.
Terriamn, Please feel better soon. That sounds rough!
I found my bubble suits on Amazon, colored to fit my moods.

OOOO, thanks for the block, Janice. I really like the fabric, but it just doesn't fit with my "style". Maybe time to change my "style".
I have been watching my package and it is due on Friday. Still at the CHARLOTTE, NC DISTRIBUTION CENTER . It is on its way and that is good enough for me. I can make a couple for myself while I wait.
I buckled down this afternoon and started quilting a UFO from a number of years ago. Amazing how little time it took once I stopped procrastinating. Should have it finished by tomorrow at this time. That will mean binding done by the weekend. Yeah! That will mean two checks for me! One for a 2.5" square finished and the second check for a UFO out of my pile!. Be still my heart!
Oh, you poor sick ones. All your symptoms are just miserable to live with and you've been suffering for days. You must get better before your package arrives so you can enjoy the thrill of poking through the little baggies and envisioning blocks. Mostly take care, and seek medical help if the yucks last too long. Prayers for you.

Ibex, the bubble suits! Roflol! I don’t think I’m setting the bar high. Just wait till you see everyone else’s blocks. I am, however, running out of steam. I needed to get a jump start but I’m hitting the piecing wall. Most of the blocks were easy to decide on but I’m a little stumped by some other F8s so it’s time to take a break.
Before I do, here are three more, my last for the night. SBG, I didn’t have the heart to cut up your undersea fabric. Then I saw those narwhals and the decision was made that I’d use a 6 inch center featuring them. I had just enough f8 to make the corner blocks so I was thrilled. Your other fish block uses a portion of your undersea fabric. I pulled the green from it and used it as the background. It’s an old remnant of Fossil Ferns and it reminds me of water with bubbles. I hope you like them. A2P, I also couldn’t cut up your stunning floral for one of your blocks. My other block for you is half done but I broke down and cut it up though it broke my heart. I hope to show it in a day or two. Hope you both like your blocks.
Have a good night’s rest, Roses.
