    went to see the "cottages" in newport ri, went to the elms where they have a behind the scenes tour, showing you how the help lived...

    we were up in the servant's rooms & each bed had an old (usually kind of tattered) quilt... my friend anne & i got scolded by the tour guide twice, because they kept moving & we were still looking...

    My SIL keeps doing that! Someday she's going to cut the shirt right off of me for her quilts! She reads the Quilting Board too, so if you see this, keep your scissors away from my blouse! :wink:

    You might be a quilter if.....
    your daughters take you shopping and won't let you enter the fabric store or fabric department because you need new cloths (they think) and you won't buy cloths if you get to the fabric store first.

    I enjoy making block designs or quilting designs (like feathers!) with the lawn mower when I have to mow the lawn!

    My DH keeps telling me to toss my socks that have holes in them. I don't know why, my shoes cover the holes. lol
    And why do I need new clothes - the old ones still fit and I can buy so much more fabric instead! I'm with you on this one.
