Usually shoes. I get foot cramps at night if I don't keep my feet relatively flat.

Part of depends on the machine- We efurbish and restore vintage machines all of which have thier own personality s one may be okay with a shoe and another needs a barefoot. My husband with his clodhopper double d wide foot has to sew in socks or barefeet or he can't feel the peddle

Always with socks. Even at classes or workshops.

Always with socks on. My socks wear out before a pair of shoes does. I have to feel the foot pedal so I can adjust easier. Quirky, I know.

I go barefoot or socks if its really cold. I feel like I have better control of the foot pedal without shoes.

shoes or socks, heard a couple of stories directly from members of my guild of picking up pins in their feet and having them travel through their body.
