Will be mailing my DQ to Brandy tomorrow before I head 'overseas' - well to the mainland to visit the kids for a few days.

I made 2 'fall themed' quilts - the first one I sold to a friend who 'just had to have it' and paid more than it was probably worth (ssshhh don't let her know) so I had to go back and start again but Brandy's DQ is just as nice.

Love all the fall quilts coming in, even if spring is just coming alive here - lots of wattle flowers and little baby lambs - oh and more sun than rain - but wish that this gale force wind would go away

Elisabrat, I'm almost finished with your little quilt. It will be going in the mail by the end of the week. Can't believe I'm finished in the middle of the month. lol But I'm on a mission to finish things....am feeling overwhelmed by all the stuff I have to finish before Christmas! ACK.....it's not that far away!!

[QUOTE=jillnjo;5506096]QuiltyMom- we are heading up to Michigan-land on Thursday! I want to bike Mackinac Island and wishing for a little fall color, but may be too early. And I intend to eat some FUDGE! I should find out if we are close to some quilt shops along the way!

That sounds like a blast. We did that 37 years ago, when my first born was 9 months or so old. DH carried him in a backpack type thingy all the way around!! He loved it. The baby that is. LOL
One of my drivers has a daughter on the island working for the season. She was in a fudge shop but took a spot in one of the hotels. Customers were driving her nuts. LOL

Make sure you stop in at the Ben Franklin store in Gaylord. They have a HUGE fabric department. Nice stuff! There is a little shop in Grayling, as well. Pick up a copy of Country Stitches, I think that is right. It is a quarterly paper they put out that lists all the fabric shops in Michigan. Once you get up there you will see it in a lot of the shops, and all the fabric shops. If you make it down 72 between Grayling and Traverse City, about a mile or two east of the Casino on the north side of the road is a GREAT shop. I am trying to remember the name of it. Renea's? Yea, I think that's it.
Lots more, Sisters in Marlette is a not to be missed shop in the thumb area, as is Back Door Quilt shop in Elkton. The Fabric Fair in Bay City. One block north and another east of the planetarium.
    HAVE FUN!!!!!

    [QUOTE=
So, need to make the embroidery machine work tonight while I do salsa. Praise God my children are getting the ingredients chopped up for me. They picked the garden today since it is going to freeze and skinned the tomatoes, chopped the peppers, shredded the cucumber and waiting for me to get home to finish up the mixing and processing.

SALSA! Do you do the swap? I LOVE salsa. One of my fav's is bruscetta (I know that spelling isn't right). My DSIL makes really good salsa, and he leaves out the stuff I don't like. LOL!!! Don't worjk too hard.

Sooooooooooooo I have a question for you all.

How do you go about folding an odd shaped fat quarter?

    See picture below.

It seems that Mr. Dude (aka Gizmo) has decided that my bin of
fat quarters is there for him to have a comfy bed.

Made 8 pints and two quarts of salsa last night. it was so nice with the extra help that my back handled things well. Did not get to use the embroidery machine last night but did go to quilt group, got a civil war fabric top pieced and went to the church meeting of the ladies group, said my speech about quilt group, made it home by 9:30 and finished canning up the salsa at 11:00 and got to bed. Up slow this am, but working hard. I did save a little salsa for myself and it is so good. Chips aren't on my diet, but don't tell anyone. It is maybe a pint of salsa and unfortunately will be gone by noon. DQ is coming along well though.

Louise, too cute! And I love the colors!

QuilterMomma, I hear you about the canning backaches! Salsa sounds extremely yummy! My son made tons of his killer hot sauce yesterday with only one little mishap - a splash in his eye! Owwwwww!

That stings like the dickens. Even told DH he better put on the gloves before handling the hot peppers so he does not rub his eyes later and feel the burn.

Dq did not get done last night but have it on top of list so I get out sooner than last month, but my partner is happy with it and I am glad. took a bit to get done for some reason. Well, off to finish the day at work and go home and can more tomatoes, we picked 30 lbs and have about that much left hallelujah.
