Boomerang Swap 16 - Sign-Ups Open
#232
Hey, Terri, I'm with you. I did make a baby quilt today with some applique clown blocks that my sister made before she died. All I lack is the binding and it'll be totally finished. This little quilt is for her granddaughter who was just born in October. She has a great-granddaughter due in June, so I'm using the remainder of the blocks to make her a baby quilt too. I think she'd be happy that they're being used for the babies.

Hi GramE. Thanks. Sometimes we have people asking to join at the last minute (actually the last 2 minute mark one time!) so I'm never sure what is what until I close the sign-ups. We can see how the groups shake out in a week or so. If you wish to change now, let me know, it's no problem to shift you into the other group but you needn't do it if you don't prefer it. Totally up to you at this point.

That turned out gorgeous! Was your request to add tone on tone and or solids to the floral fabric?

Good question I'm pretty sure I asked for matching or complimentary colors to the pinks, greens, purples, and blues, if a lighter color was used to make it a creamy off white or match the background in the floral. As you see everyone has a different part of the print they chose fabrics from often colors or patterns I would not have chosen but to me that is what makes a sampler quilt work and have such great personality.

I have my goal of 52 UFO projects to finish this year. But, I have a hard time putting myself into that box, so I gave myself permission to start a project if I finish three UFOs. This will be one of those starts. Since we do not get them back till June, hey I have all this time to work as I go. It is always a fresh start to the day to make one block and then work on an UFO. It helps ease in the frustration of "having" to finish them.
Here are my fabrics for these swaps. I decided to send the same fabric for both swaps so I know I have enough blocks. I like to work in different fabrics and this one needs to stay the same stuff. Matching more into the red, blue, greens, and yellows will work great. Even adding black into the mix is good. Some orange, nephew is not real big on orange. White is also a good color. It will be for a man, 32. He is a kid at heart. I have already washed and dried the fabric, now to press, cut, bag, and put in envelope. Think I will meet that March deadline.
