The first picture is the whole quilt, which measures 63" wide X 75" long. Then one picture of each of the colored star circles. There are 216 pieces in each star circle not including the 4 background "L" shaped sections that were sewn to each quarter circle in order to make one big square block. I ended up turning the blocks 'on point' and they fit together much better, with many fewer rectangles of black background fabric to piece in. The background is fmq in a spiral design that are about 3" diameter. I hope you enjoy looking.

OMG! That is so awesome! The stars alone are spectacular, but the quilting really takes it way beyond that! You can be very proud of this one. Are you keeping it for yourself? I certainly would not be able to part with it! :)

Oh yes, it's staying in my house. The boards to support it need to dry another night, my husband varnished them. It will go on the wall at the top of the stairs going to the loft. That's the only place left in our house with enough wall space for this one to hang.

Oh my you certainly have something special there. Even my DH thinks you should win many contests with it, it you were thinking of entering it in a constest. WOW is all I can say, I have never seen anything so pretty. I only dream that I could make one as beautiful.

I loved the early blocks you showed us, and the finished quilt is even more spectacular than I imagined!

Some day we're all going to be saying,'I knew her before she became a star quilter (pun intended!'

Absolutely stunning! What a beautiful quilt. The quilting makes it not only stunning, but breathtaking! You did an excellent job. How long did you say it took you?

Please let us know how you do in the contest. This is stunning whether you look at each block or the whole thing. Great job. Boggles my mind and I am sure I will never be able to do this.
