I hope they put it in all stores, also. They can move some of the toys. LOL

Oh, this is such great news!!! Two of our five Walmarts have continued to carry fabric bolts, although they greatly reduced the size of that department; but the other three dropped theirs. I have posted on blogs, e-mailed Walmart multiple times and tried to be a voice kindly requesting them to bring back their fabric departments. So many, particularly in small towns where they did not have a JoAnn's or Hancocks or local quilt shop were left with nothing. I support my local quilt shop regularly, but sometimes I don't need that expensive a quality of fabric for my project. This is wonderful news. Thank You WalMart for hearing and heeding our requests!!!

Do we now need to email our local Walmart if they don't bring back fabric? I wouldn't mind doing their market research for them, as in how many of us would welcome the return of fabric area. The town I moved to doesn't have any fabric or quilt shops. Last time there I didn't see any trace of fabric.

    I do also!
The local walmart in this town put the three mom and pop fabric stores out of business and now they do not sell fabric any longer. I live in a rurally isolated area and the nearest fabric store is 50 miles away.

I know this would be asking for alot but I wish they would put them all back in the back of the store preferably in the corner. I hate that they moved the fabric to the center in the ones that kept fabric. In the back you almost felt you were shopping in a LQS - well sorta.

I stopped shopping at Walmart the day I went in for liquid parafin oil. One of the workers told me that they don't carry it any more. I was so stunned that I could only sputter: "but you are...Wal-Mart!"

I also don't shop there because the quality of the merchandise has gone down A LOT. Done bashing the store; I just don't shop there since I have other options available.

Well, my nearest Joann's is very near Walmart...so distance was over 35 miles each way no matter what. MY local Alco stopped carrying fabrics...now they have lost a lot of us customers...they didn't want to be bothered...Well, neither do I...I now shop online or go to Joann's when hubby has to go to doctor.

Great to see isn't it?? I've noticed more and more in my local store each time I go.

However the store 20+ miles away ALWAYS has over 2000 bolts of fabric ALL THE TIME! The store manager there KNOWS that the fabric dept keeps that store running!
