Hi Sufergirl. I was wondering if you could release the seams just past the tan points and replace them with blue points. They would be bigger points than the pattern but that would be OK. Or....maybe outline the tan point with blue thread. It wouldn't take much because the eye wants to finish it anyway. Thanks for going early in the star month.

Thanks Whitepine...I think I'll try to change the points. I hadn't thought of doing this, but it might work.

I wanted to use 2 colors for my star and I wanted the center to be dark blue and the rest to be dark yellow, not thinking the points would turn out like they did. I thought others might benefit from my error. I'm rather new to quilting and have a lot to learn.

I too lost my points. I don't know why I did not think to make the background in the blue to have contrast at the points. Oh well, I always make two versions. The second block I went more subtle in the stripes with a contrasting background. This was a fun star to make, thanks for suggesting it!

why can't you just rip the points out and add another blue stripe at the end the same width as the rest of the stripes?

If you look at the picture in the directions, that's the way it's put together.

I changed and put the light where the dark is and dark where the light is.

I'm glad I made ONE block - I could not see myself making a whole quilt with this block. To the quilter that does....I bow in awe!!!

Here are 2 pictures. The yellow is bright and the wrinkles are from too much spray starch...which I'm sure will quilt out.
