Lovely machines! I recently got a two-tone. Now to learn to service it!

A just designates the particular factory where it was made. There's no difference in the machine.

I have 2 black 301s, one was free and other wasn't. I love sewing with them, they are fast!

Do you mean that you can't loosen up the silver knob or do you mean that the needle still goes up and down while winding the bobbin?

cannot loosen up the silver knob to keep the needle still........but i have a sidewinder to use till i figure it out......slant needle rules because of visibility....can see what you are sewing without getting a 'crik' in your neck !!!!!!!

Anyway, some paint chips etc. for its age, but it works great now after about 4 hours of TLC. Also, a family photo of the 3, 301's I have. I feel kind of guilty for having 3 of them now!!! But, 301's seem to have turned into my 'specialty' and refurbishing 3 of them has taught me a lot.

Well I guess you just need the tan and cream colored one!! They're beauties. I've been having a FW and just within the last few months found a tan 301. Love it. I really wanted a black one.

Lovely machines. Nice work getting them sewing again.

I just got a 301 and took her to the Dr. for a tune-up and wiring repair on Friday. Can't wait to get her back and get her sewing.
