Welcome!! I had the same problem with the first class I took so I got some books and read and then I took a sampler quilt class -- one of those at an LQS that lets you learn to make all different kinds of blocks and learn all different kinds of techniques. It was wonderful. I could make mistakes learning techniques on 12" squares and not on a queen size quilt.
