    Another way of using cone thread is just put the cone thread in a jar set behind your sewing machine and thread it as you normally do and sew. Have done this for years until my husband made me a cone shape wood dole rod that fit on my sewing machine that now hold my cone thread when I sew. I now use cone thread for almost all my sewing it it much cheaper then buy single spool of thread.
