To ease your mind I have found the very opposite The fabric does not move since the mat revolves very smoothly. I use mine all the time for home and quilt camp.....

Ditto on using a Lazy Susan or rotating cake plate. I use my old Lazy Susan which is about 14". It is great to be able to get to all the sides.

I have the 3-piece Roundabout by Martelli, and I love it! It has the cutting mat, turntable, and separate ironing pad that fits right on top of the mat. You can get the 3-piece set, or any one of the components. The 16” diameter lets me use the entire mat as a cutting surface. The turntable has 30 stainless steel ball bearings so it does not tip over. Martelli has an upcoming 1/2 price sale, so that's a great time to purchase.

I have the 17" rotating mat. A few years ago I looked for one like mine for my daughter and couldn't find one, so I bought a turntable at the hardware store, and attached it to a board that fit the 17" Olfa cutting mat. I am not sure, but I don't think they make that particular size anymore. We use them of course for cutting and squaring up blocks, but for any time we need a turntable for anything. We make gingerbread houses every year and place the foundation board on the turntable, then the GB house, and it makes it so much easier to decorate.

I bought one, but it is beveled, and I can't get it flat, make sure if you buy one it lays flat. Mine is no
good at this point.

did u just glue a square or rectangular mat to it, does it overhang the lazy susan ? I was talking to my dh about one weeks ago and he said a cake plate would work, I wasn't sure lol

While reading this post, I thought of a 15 1/2 inch Rubbermaid turntable that my mother used to have in her refrigerator. It's at my house now, and I knew exactly where it was. I had been trying to think of a use for it, and couldn't bear to throw it out. LOL Now I'm going to find a board to fit the top of it and a mat that fits that. If I can't find the correct size mat, I may just use my table saw and cut up my old one to fit.

Don't glue the mat to the turntable, use double sided tape.

I love my 17 inch for squaring and trimming blocks, use it when I hav a lot to trim and sit down to do the trimming.
