Invisigrip did not work well for me. Have tried quite a few things. So far what I like best are the Grip Strips from http://www.guidelines4quilting.com/GripStrips.html .

I bought the grip strips, I like them best of several things I have tried.

Ok, my brain is not functioning 100% today. I confused Invisigrip with Invisalign, and was curious about how quilters were going to used these braces that straighten teeth in their quilting!

I did not like it because the Invisgrip caused too much reflection and harder to see the lines.

I use Invisigrip and like it. I used a ruler without it once and wondered what was wrong with it. The invisigrip has stayed on several years. I have used double faced Scotch tape on my 10 degree ruler. It did help a lot cutting the little pieces for a Spicy Spiral runner, but it collected thread and became messy. Fine for a project, but not for regular use. Dried rubber cement became messy, too.

My last quilt magazine had a suggestion using the rubber gripper shelf liner. I cut out a small circle (5")and put it under the edge of my ruler, away from the edge I cut. I am amazed at how well it works. Well worth the try.

I have Invisigrip on all my rulers, too. As AudreyB said, there can still be a little slippage, but not nearly as much as without the Invisigrip. I've, also, been trying a tip I saw on Eleanor Burns. She said to have one finger (pinkie) off the far side of the ruler (the one away from the cutting side) as you cut. This really does seem to help to keep the ruler from slipping.

I got some Invisigrip when it first came out, and it worked fine but seemed too expensive. I went to Joann's and bought the flimsy = cheap clear vinyl and cut it to fit the backs of my rulers and it works just as well as the Invisigrip. I cut the left overs into strips and wrapped the strips around my thread spools to keep them from unraveling (the vinyl sticks to itself). I also tried the sandpaper dots, but I always needed to see something exactly where I had put the dots so they didn't last long,
