To receive such a special gift means that you must be a very special person. Congrats on the quilt and congrats to you for your special qualities that make others want to honor you.

ps: And good luck with your new job and school, too.

Do you belong to a virtual guild? Make quilts for each other for "special" occasions? Just curious.....

Geri we are all regulars in the chat room on this site. It is where we all met each other. About twice a year, generally when i know i have time to work on it, the group decides on a recipient, then i pick a color/theme based on that person. We spend 2-3 months gathering blocks from different people. Once i have all the blocks in, i get sashing and backing and put the top together. I will then quilt it. During that time i look for someone to bind cause i dont do hand work. I ship to the binder and she binds then ships to the recipient. It is a total surprise for the recipient! We have done one for Alabama_Quilter, Roseirish48, and now Sew_tracy. I have the next one on my design wall at the moment and it will go on long arm this weekend. It however is not a surprise, it is going to the charity that playswithcolor participates in for their annual fund raiser. I have already received several pm's from people asking about the next "hugs" quilt. Unfirtunately, i am booked through february 2015. But we may start collecting early. Really depends on what everyone wants to do. chat room is open to all, so feel free to come in and enjoy! There are truly some amazing people around this site!

That is a beautiful quilt, and made by some very special people to surprise you with this treasure. Such a blessing some people can be.
