I have been buying the Joanns, it seems the solids pill quite a bit less, I bought the Dritz shaver and it works wonders as well, I bought a micro fiber cloth at the Dollar Tree and threw it in the dryer, works great as well....but I have been buying lots of the Joann flannel to make rag quilts and am very happy....except there was one type of flannel I do not care for, it is hard to explain but it seems to be "painted" on as a print, that faded alot after 2 washings....

Thank you so much ladies for all of your comments.
From what I can gather, I'm thinking that the dark solids are some that are a bit of a problem. If I get one that pills, I will do as GailG mentioned and use it as "batting". I tend to stick with the lighter colors.
    Thanks again.

I have bought some of the JoAnn's snuggle flannels. Some of it pills very badly, some of it doesn't. I don't understand it. I washed the fabric on delicate and it still pills. I think its hit or miss.
I washed the fabrics before I used it. Some of it is only good for dog quilts.
I bought 8 yards for a robe for DH, glad that one didn't pill. Here is my DH in his new robe.

When I shop for flannel or Fleece I always go to regular ol' Hancocks and go to the anti-pill section, that way I have no question about the pilling & so far it's been a good choice.

I dont think it matters where you buy it. Quality is what you should look for.
