I think the brown is too busy..the quilt is all pattern material..adding the busy brown takes away from the quilt it's self I think..Maybe a solid color from one of the quilts colors would work better..if not solid a light color would be best with he dark one u already have..

I think it's too dark of an brown and too floral to go with this top. I wonder how a lighter teal blue with tan prints go with it? Beautiful top though!

Nope, I don't like the brown. I know it's in the quilt, but the quilt top is very vibrant and the brown sort of brings it down, not cheerful like the inside. I would go with something different.

I agree with Dogwood. this appears to be a quilt made for a fishing enthusiast and a floral print is definitely the wrong way to go on this. Color works, print is wrong.

I agree with the brown and a narrow cream or lighter value. But is the gray part of it? I'm not sure if that works. Just saying. It's a beautiful top!

I like the red and the brown, especially the way the brown fades into te background and leaves the blocks as the stars
    of the show.

My take, too. Beautiful top; love the fish!

The red border is OK, but I don't like the brown; although I'm not sure I can come up with an alternative.

I think a brown would work, but that one seems a bit busy. I would also put a thin 'breaker' border between the red and brown. Maybe bring the red in a bit, add a 1 1/2" creamish and then the wider brown. Or go real crazy and make the red thinner, do same size cream, same size the fish blue and then a wider (but less busy) brown. lots of possibilities.
