I buy the Shout brand color catchers at Wal Mart- I use them for my quilting fabric as well as when I wash loads with any color that I think might bleed. I keep them on hand all the time near my washer. They are with the fabric softeners near the boxes of bounce and other softeners at my Wal Mart. The come in a red/yellow/orange box.

Walmart doesn't have a brand that I know of. I buy Shout, Carbona and Purex at Walmart.

While you can buy Carbona brand products at Walmart it is not a Walmart brand. You can buy Carbona brand at other stores as well. Look in where the other laundry products are located. They are usually on a top shelf and hard to see and reach for someone short like me!

I have used both Shout and Carbona brands and do not notice a difference. Both work well and the Carbona is generally less expensive per sheet.

After looking for them at Target and Kroger, I bought mine at Amazon. I also bought Synthropol from Amazon.

I have also seen a discount brand at the Dollar Tree and/or Dollar store. I have tried them, but I know they are every where.

I bought Breezy color absorbers at Joann's. Work great! I don't use them a lot--just when I am very suspicious of a fabric.

I buy mine on Amazon or at Target. At Target they get moved around sometimes - sometimes they have them with dryer sheets; other times they get moved over with the "dry clean" type stuff.

Carbona or Shout; both seem to work equally well for me. Sometimes I'll buy them at Joann's if I have a half-off coupon to burn.

Regarding expense, after the quilt, this is a very small price to ensure the quilt is pristine when gifted.

I was buying Shout, but Wal Mart had these other ones called Color Grabbers and there are 30 in the box. Work as well as shout and I also reuse if they come out clean.
