I have a Sweet 16 by Handiquilter and I paid far less that the asking price at sewing machines plus. I purchased it from a local dealer who has been so supportive and offers classes on the machine. I didn't want the stitch regulator so that cut the price, but the one advertised didn't come with the mat. My suggestion, check with the local dealer first.

When buying anything online always consider the cost of shipping as part of the purchase price. Buying at a lower purchase price may not be the cheapest way to go if shipping puts the total price higher than another dealer.

I bought a Juki from them in December. Very fast shipping and great customer service. The agent helped me with picking out a machine for my wants and needs. I then found a lower offer online and they accepted that offer. So far, I am pleased with the sewing machine. My only problem is the fact that it was longer than my roller bag. I solved that problem; I bought a small machine to take to classes.

I bought a Juki TL98QE from them in 2008, never been in a shop, other than for cleaning. Never any repairs of any kind. I have used it alot.
Buy from whomever you want, most of us have to spend according to our income.
    Always nice to save money.

Thank you everyone for the replies. It wasn't them than changed my mind. It was the finance company they go through. I will see if the bank I do business with will finance it. If he will he will want me to buy local. (As local as possible, the closes Juki dealer to me is 115 miles away.)

I bought my Gammil from a CA company in 2004. They required classes to taken at their store as to keep their reputation from being damaged. If you weren't willing to take the classes they wouldn't sell you a machine.
They had many machines sold to out of staters. None of us had to pay California taxes. Of course we paid for delivery but it was reasonable.
In the 11years I have had my machine I have never needed them to "service" my machine. Once a rubber washer broke and my dh went to the local Ace and got a replacement......as per instruction by the tech dept.
Investigate them and their reputation on line for the machine you are looking at. ....jmho.

2.5 years ago I bought a Pfaff 18.8 ftrom them and free shipping and zero interest for my 4 year payments. The price is what what got to me, because I paid 5k for the machine and frame. I spent a little to buy extention to a king size and also for the king size leaders. I had problems with the electronics and had to send it back, and the problem was so bad, they had to send a new machine out to me, and shipping was paid coming back. I have quilted probably 100 toi 200 quilts for myself, customers, and also for QOV and Project Linus and it has paid for itself. I have always quilted on a DSM before and so this was an education. If I had the money I would have probably bought a more expensive machine locally but with the zero interest financing, this was a no brainer for me.

I bought a Tin Lizzie from them 16 months ago. I am very happy. The machine froze up ( from lint so small you couldn't see it). Tech was called back quickly. I was afraid to turn the wheel hard enough to unjam it. I was shocked at the tiny piece of thread that jammed it. I have been very happy with machine and service.

I am fortunate in that they are about 40 miles from where I live, and I have not bought a machine from them I have gone to their store for thread and stabilizer. The people were wonderful to deal with - except they were trying very hard to have buy another machine now that I had mastered my Topaz 20 and a newer version is out. (No thanks, I like being comfortable with the machine I have.) But they were still very nice and did show me what they had on special. Some of their specials are very good.
